Erica M. Cipparone is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Erica is a Partner at WVD who provides representation in the areas of intellectual property including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and related litigation.

Erica specializes in patent and trademark preparation, prosecution, and litigation, as well as copyright and trade secret transactional matters and matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (“TTAB”) such as concurrent use proceedings, opposition proceedings and cancellation proceedings. Erica enjoys counseling her clients on the best ways to protect and defend their intellectual property. Her litigation experience often involves claims of patent infringement, trademark infringement and trade dress infringement. Erica is well versed in both domestic and foreign IP protection, and has clients with vast IP portfolios.

Erica’s litigation experience includes trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, unfair trade practices, tortious interference, and breach of contract and related matters.

Erica has a Masters’ Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Central Florida, and prior to joining WVD, Erica attended Barry University School of Law with a focus on patent law and other intellectual property matters. In completing her Masters’ in Biomedical Sciences at UCF, Erica focused on cancer treatment therapies, and specifically, her research focused on immunotherapy-based treatment methods for cancer therapy as a chemotherapy and radiation alternative.

Before attending law school, Erica worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician for several years in outpatient and inpatient hospital pharmacies as well as compounding and retail pharmacies throughout both Central Florida and Utah. Erica is well versed in the Spanish language.

Erica previously served on the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers (“CFAWL”) Board of Directors. She previously served on the Steering Committee for the Florida Bar IP Symposium. Erica was selected in 2020 as a recipient of Florida Association for Women Lawyers (“FAWL”) 2020 Leader in the Law Award. This honor is awarded to women who have earned the respect of others professionally, been involved in activities for the betterment of their local community, exemplified the qualities of a positive role model, and advanced the cause of women in the community.
